Earthquake in Italy

At least 92 dead. The epicenter was L'Aquila, a town with many historic churches that I visited last summer. Here's a before and after:






That's the Chiesa di Santa Maria del Suffragio in the background of both pics, it looks like it took a hit.

Now they are saying over 150 dead.

but it's standing. at least it isn't a pile of rubble. this stuff makes me cringe. and they might restore it. here, make way for a mcdonalds.

NPR said most of the collapsed building were newer.
