Good News For Republicans!

Kucinich introduces a resolution to impeach the Vice President, moving a conversation that had previously only been heard on blogs and Olberman's show into the mainstream, and somehow it is GOOD NEWS FOR REPUBLICANS!

ABC:
Debate on Cheney Impeachment Averted

House Democrats on Tuesday narrowly managed to avert a bruising debate on a proposal to impeach Dick Cheney after Republicans, in a surprise maneuver, voted in favor of taking up the measure.

WaPo:
The House voted today to send a resolution considering the impeachment of Vice President Cheney to the Judiciary Committee, a move that embarrassed Democratic leaders who were forced into the parliamentary tactic to avoid a floor debate on impeachment.

USA Today:
Debate over Cheney's impeachment is in direct opposition to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's wishes. She has repeatedly said an impeachment of Cheney or President Bush is off the table. Thus, failing to table this measure is a essentially a jab in Pelosi's ribs.

I beg to differ. This is the first time I have seen the phrase "high crimes and misdemeanors" in the corporate whore media since Clinton was in office. The Villagers can spin this as a Republican victory all they want, but what Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sixpack will take away from this is 'the Bush Administration' and 'Impeachment' being used in the same sentence. Well done, Rep. Kucinich (D-brass ones).
