People I would rather vote for than Hillary Clinton

Akaka (D-HI)
Bingaman (D-NM)
Boxer (D-CA)
Byrd (D-WV)
Chafee (R-RI)
Conrad (D-ND)
Corzine (D-NJ)
Dayton (D-MN)
Durbin (D-IL)
Feingold (D-WI)
Graham (D-FL)
Inouye (D-HI)
Jeffords (I-VT)
Kennedy (D-MA)
Leahy (D-VT)
Levin (D-MI)
Mikulski (D-MD)
Murray (D-WA)
Reed (D-RI)
Sarbanes (D-MD)
Stabenow (D-MI)
Wellstone (D-MN)
Wyden (D-OR)

I know this list includes dead people, as well as people who are no longer in office. I don't care. I want a candidate who voted against the use of force in Iraq.

Senate vote

House vote

And speaking of the House vote, is it possible to draft Charlie Rangel to run for President? I want a cigar-chomping Korean War vet who doesn't take any crap on the Sunday gasbag shows as President.

Totally agree. I'd add almost any Democrat governor to that list as well-- or Democratic mayor, Democratic state legislator.

I find Hillary to be contemptible, not only backing the move to war when she should have been posing probing questions, but then cheerleading the war in the years since, plus being a facilitator for the same companies that are profiting from the war.

Grass-rots Democrats in ridiculous numbers are looking at 3rd parties now with the prospect of a Hillary nomination-- indeed, this might be the year of a big break-out for 3rd party candidates. The Dems must choose someone less polarizing and someone who's demonstrated more leadership.

So I read at Eschaton that you were thinking of not going to the 'march' in DC on Saturday. Listen, pal, if you've got the means, make the trip. Lemme recount the march of the pre-Gulf war I in DC. I found myself walking amongst a group of lesbians from MA who were chanting:
"Read my labia, U.S. out of Saudi Arabia" and
"Kuwaitis Interruptis, pull out NOW" and
"It's a DICK thing, hey hey, it's a DICK thing"
You gonna tell me you're going to think up lines like that sitting naked at your keyboard alone and in the dark? Come be with a million of your brethren, come yell some obscenities at the press; at the government.

I remember one time waiting tables at a trolley car diner on a Sunday when Feingold's sister and her family came in for breakfast. I took a moment out from the grind to tell her to tell her brother thanks.

"Thanks why?" she asked.

"Why for being the only Senator to actually read the Patriot Act."

Need I mention the name of the town this occurred in? Why Kenosha, Wisconsin of course.
