My big dumb cat just died. I don't know if it was the heat or his morbid obesity, but he convulsed and dropped dead in about two minutes.

I share your sorrow, can't do a damn thing about it but to let ya know that yer not alone in feeling sad.
Like I told a friend once, when I cross the pale and move on from here the first sign of a long hot eternity will be the absence of Curious, Cathy, Lady, Blossom, Goldie and Snookie (just to name a few). All pets go to heaven. It's probably their rejection of organized religion that insures that.
