Corzine hits them with a chair

I don't generally follow New Jersey politics - I assume they are affiliates of the Sopranos unless proved otherwise - but yesterday I caught a new Corzine for Governor ad that was brilliant. They don't have the ad up yet on Corzine's campaign website, but here is part of the transcript:

In 2005, Three Top Bush Surrogates Have Come To NJ To Back Forrester:

· Ken Mehlman Delivered A “Strong” Endorsement Of Forrester On Behalf Of The White House. In June 2005, RNC Chairman and former Bush campaign manager Ken Mehlman gave the national party’s backing to Forrester. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Mehlman “delivered a strong endorsement of Forrester on behalf of the White House.” [Philadelphia Inquirer, 6/9/05]

· Karl Rove Headlined Two Fundraisers For Forrester. In June 2005, according to the New York Times, Forrester “welcomed Mr. Rove, President Bush's top political adviser, to two fund-raisers for his campaign to become New Jersey's next governor.” [New York Times, 6/22/05]

· Dick Cheney Came To New Jersey To Raise Money For Forrester. In July 2005, Vice President Cheney attended two fundraisers to help raise money for Forrester. The New York Times reported that Cheney sought in part to “elevate the profile of” Forrester. [New York Times, 7/23/05]

2002: Bush Came To New Jersey To Support Forrester. In September 2002, President Bush came to New Jersey on behalf of Forrester’s campaign. Bush said, “When you find a good one, you've got to back him. You've got a good one in Doug Forrester.” [Star Ledger, 9/24/02]

ANNCR: Doug Forrester. He’s George Bush’s choice for Governor. Is he yours?

This is great. Smear your opponent by linking him to Bush. This will not only make them radioactive, but Bush as well.
